How do I import
date from Excel spreadsheet file?
If you are using
Microsoft Excel, you can simply save your spreadsheet into csv
(comma separated value). From the Fixed Asset Pro, click File ~
Import... and select the source file for import. Assign fields
and click the okay button to execute your action. One of the
most likely problems you will encounter is the date format. Make
sure you assign the correct picture format.
To format or deformat the import field, click the 'Picture'
button. This button calls the picture entry window for the
currently highlighted Import Field. This is especially useful if
the import field is a formatted date. Some of the most commonly
used date formats are listed below:
@D1 mm/dd/yy
@D2 mm/dd/yyyy
@D5 dd/mm/yy
@D6 dd/mm/yyyy

The assets get
imported, but when I go to reports I get an error message
telling me there are no records to display.
You have to ensure
the status field (ASS:Status) is set to 'O'. 'O' stands for Open
and 'C' stands for Closed. Only records with asset status set to
'O' will appear in any reports.
